Balsam Family Project is an Oxfordshire Charity, based in Didcot, which works to befriend and support families with small children in the local area, who are isolated or vulnerable in some way. It was founded in 2009 by Alex Walker and a group of Trustees with a vision to create a community for families where they would be shown unconditional love and friendship. As any family knows, those early years can be very challenging, especially to new parents, and we all need support, whether that be from friends, extended family or community groups such as Children’s Centres or the Church. Balsam Family Project was set up to reach out to families who have to face additional challenges that make family life all the harder.

There are several voluntary opportunities should you want to get involved:

• You or your organisations could raise awareness and learn more about the work that we do in helping vulnerable families by inviting us to do a presentation;

• You may wish to make use of our services or recommend our college courses or families days to others;

• If you have an hour a week, a month or a year, you may wish to volunteer to help on Family or College days or with once-off activities;

• There are also opportunities to give to the Project financially as you feel able.
