South and Vale Voluntary and Community Sector Forum

February 8, 2016

We are delighted to announce this years’ South and Vale Voluntary and Community Sector Forum is taking place on Wednesday 23 March 2016 from 9am to 4.30pm at Cornerstone Arts Centre, 25 Station Road, Didcot, OX11 7NE. This event is aimed at voluntary and community organisations and groups who work across South Oxfordshire  and Vale of White Horse.

This free one day event is organised jointly by South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils and OCVA (Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action).  The aim of the forum is to bring people together from across the districts to learn from each other about best practice and to find out what is happening in the sector.  You can hear updates from the Leaders at South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils and there will also be senior Oxfordshire County Council representatives. OCVA will provide an overview of the voluntary and community sector with a focus on volunteering and funding.  You will have the opportunity to participate in a small facilitated session to talk with us and with other delegates about the issues that are affecting your organisation and to share some good practice.

During the facilitated information session you will have time to meet other delegates and there will be other networking opportunities throughout the day during the scheduled breaks and during registration.  Over the lunch period we are running a funding and information fair so you can speak with a range of large and small local and national funders to find out about funding opportunities and tips for applying, and learn more about the sector.  A free lunch and refreshments are provided throughout the event.

Part of the day will be dedicated to a series of training sessions following up on some of the mornings’ themes.  Delegates are invited to participate in two training sessions of their choice that will challenge thinking and provide practical information and techniques to some key areas of your work and help strengthen your organisation.

Although this is a free event we do need you to reserve your place to secure your two training sessions and the facilitated session.

To register please visit the following link which will provide details of the full programme,http://ocva.org.uk/south-vale-forum/ you can register up to three people from your organisation, as space at the event is limited and we want to encourage as many organisations as possible to attend.
