I am writing to invite you to a series of tours especially designed for older audiences at Modern Art Oxford as part of the gallery’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.
The free tours will be held on Mondays when we are closed to the public, so the gallery will be quiet and you will have the space to yourself. The tours will be informal, hosted by gallery staff and include the chance to explore the exhibitions independently.
The dates for these tours are listed below, however we are flexible, so if you would like to book for another time then please do let me know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Exhibition Tour Dates:
Please note tours will begin at 10.30am and 3pm – booking is essential.
Monday 18 | 25 April
Monday 9 | 16 | 23 | May
Monday 6 | 13 | 20 June
Following each tour tea and cake will be provided. There will also be a chance to talk informally about the exhibitions and to take part in our 50 Stories Project.
The 50 Stories project is part of our 50th anniversary celebrations for which we are recording stories, memories and reminiscences about the gallery from our visitors.
We want to hear about exhibitions you have seen, people you met or conversations you had. No detail is too small, no story too long. Working with audio artist Susannah Canning, who recently graduated from Oxford Brookes, we will turn the recordings into a podcast available on our website, telling a history of the gallery through our visitors.
For those that would like to, there will be a chance make a contribution to this project as part of their visit.
I hope these free events sound of interest as we would love to welcome you to the gallery, to book or for more information please feel free to contact me on the below.
