Many folk believe that by registering with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and paying the £35 fee that their responsibility under the DPA is complete. I am sorry to say that this simply is not true. Only this week, both the Red Cross and Sage have both come under scrutiny by the ICO due to breaches in the Data Protection Act. Both organisations reputation will have been damaged, but at what cost?
