SMART meter rollout – FREE briefings

SMART meter rollout – FREE briefings

Between now and 2020, every home and microbusiness across Scotland, England and Wales will be offered a smart meter by their energy supplier.  We’re working with Smart Energy GB to raise awareness of smart meter rollout and are targeting groups who have been identified as having additional barriers to engagement.

I am looking to attend meetings of professionals (which could include volunteers), to give a short briefing of about 30 minutes on smart meter rollout, to help those who attend feel more prepared to support clients with the smart meter rollout.  I will also be able to talk about a bid fund attached to the project, which you may wish to consider applying to, to carry out further work raising awareness of smart meter rollout among your clients.  We are looking to brief front line workers (this can include councillors or even landlords at forums) who work directly with consumers who fall into any of the following categories:

  • District heating customers
  • Lack of proficiency in English or Welsh
  • Lacking basic digital skills
  • Learning disability
  • Low literacy
  • Memory impairment
  • No personal internet access
  • Off-gas grid customers
  • Prepay customers
  • Private tenants
  • Severe or profound deafness
  • Social housing tenants

Please contact me, Rebecca Jones, if this is something you’d be interested in and we can have a chat about what works best for your organisation as I can be pretty flexible.
