Loan Shark Advocate Training session at Barton Neighbourhood Centre on Friday 27th January 2017 from 11.00 – 14.00. This free event will be delivered by Lin Fisher from the Illegal Money Lending Team.
During the session you will learn to:
- Describe the trigger signs of Loan Shark activity
- Understand what Loan Sharking is
- Identify the needs of victims and why they use Loan Sharks
- Develop an action plan for the community
You will leave the session with some guidance and tools to help you feel more confident in identifying Loan Sharks and the implications of this and how to support the victims.
Come along if you’re a Neighbourhood Watch member, Credit Union volunteer, a member of a tenant or resident group, a parent, grandparent or any someone interested in helping us share our message.
An advocate will be someone who supports our work in their community and who understands how to access help & support for potential victims.
