Oxford Homeless Pathways (OxHoP) is an established charity that provides a range of accommodation and support to homeless people across Oxfordshire. Helping people to tackle the problems that have led them to become homeless and encourage them to develop the skills and resilience to enable them to lead full independent lives once again.
This is an exciting time for the organisation as we move into a new era of supporting homeless people. In order to meet this need we are increasing our fundraising capacity by expanding the Fundraising Team. This is a newly created role where you can really make your mark and develop the role. We are looking for an experienced Community Fundraiser with a genuine passion to make a life changing difference to homeless people’s lives.

You will be responsible for engaging a wide range of people to deliver on the fundraising vision of the organisation. To do this, you will need to have:
Exceptional people skills . Whether working with CEO’s, heads of community groups or homeless clients, you can talk to them all, and you can unite them towards a joint vision.
Financial responsibility. Previous experience of successful income generation for a charity in a paid position.
Thinking outside the box, unique perspectives and having fresh ideas are some of your greatest skills
Organisational skills. Ensuring the ongoing work of the charity and developing the strategy and operation plans requires excellent administrative ability. Ability to manage own workload to deliver required outcomes. Ability to prioritise variety of tasks and adopt a flexible approach to workload.
Tech skills . Maximise the recording of the fundraising events (electronic, hardcopy); and manage a database of all fundraisers (active and retroactive), and keep up-to-date our donor contacts and preference information. Word, Excel and Outlook are as natural as eating to you. You will update and manage social media platforms to raise awareness and your social media presence will make the Kardashians look like rookies.
Presentation skills. You will have excellent presentation skills to effectively engage various audiences.
You will also have:
A knowledge of Oxfordshire and a willingness to travel across the county
Empathy for the work of OxHoP
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with supporters.
The ability to convey a compelling case of support
Previous event management experience
A proven track record of exceeding financial and non-financial targets.
A full clean driving license and access to a car insured for work purposes.
A willingness to work flexible hours – some evening and weekends
What you will do:
Fundraising strategy- You will be responsible for the coordination of all the charity’s community and events fundraising activities; building successful relationships with supporters. You will formulate and implement a fundraising action plan in line with the strategic objectives and income targets of the charity. You will also develop a programme of fundraising events co-hosted/organised by the charity.
Develop and Manage relationships – You will maintain and develop relationships with existing supporters, motivating and facilitating them to maximise the funds they raise. You will engage with and inspire new supporters to raise money. You will also keep staff informed and involved with fundraising initiatives. You will maintain current supporters in the community and review the re-engagement of past. Offer support to individual, groups when organising their own fundraising events for the charity.
Help provide financial stability – You will maximise gift aid on fundraising and donations by building income from sources including: challenge events, community and third party events. Keep up to date with any relevant legislative changes that may affect fundraising i.e. Gift Aid, data protection. Adhere to the charity’s policies and procedures, paying particular attention to those involving financial procedures, confidentiality and data protection.
