Job summary: Trax is currently seeking to recruit a workshop tutor to help support and deliver sessions to young people aged 13-19.

Job Description

The role includes but not exclusively the following activities:

To assist in the setting up and closing down of the workshops in preparation for delivery of sessions

To plan and deliver sessions to students in line with City and Guilds criteria and adhering to organisational policies

Assisting the Director of Operations in planning schemes of work and assess students work, ensuring portfolios are correct and up to date

To assist in the running of field activities as a marshal; safety checking vehicles and following Health and Safety guidelines

To assist in the general upkeep of the Trax premises as required

To attend team meetings, staff training and information days as required

Person Specification

Essential:

Experience and knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics

A qualification (minimum Level 1) in a mechanical subject or proven 5 years’ experience of working in the trade

Acceptable levels of Maths and English, minimum GCSEs grade C in both

Experience of working with young people

Ability to undergo a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check

Full, clean driving licence

Desirable:

A teaching qualification or willingness to undergo training

Demonstrable understanding of the issues that young people who access Trax may face, knowledge of safeguarding issues and willing to carry out additional training

Salary

£23,400 – £26,000 depending on qualifications and experience

Hours: Full time 37 hours per week Monday – Friday. An option of term-time only may be considered where appropriate.
