WEA Training Courses – New courses for the summer term

We still have places available for the next upcoming courses:

Preparation for work, at Dean Court Community Centre, Botley
Course contents: help students to recognise their skills and qualities, update Curriculum Vitae, complete an application form, prepare for an interview and know where to look for work

Tuesday 16th May to 13th June 2017 (term time only), 12:15-14:45h. 4 sessions

 Makaton Taster, at The Venue@Cowley
A  practical and fun introduction to Makaton into participants daily interactions with children and adults

  • What is Makaton? It is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people to communicate. www.makaton.org

1 session on Friday, 19th May, 10:00-13:00h

 Makaton Course, at The Venue@Cowley
A beginners course of Makaton for parents, carers and workers who need to use Makaton in everyday situations.

4 sessions on Tuesday, from 13th June to 4th July 2017, 10:00-14:00h

Family History, at Blackbird Leys Community Centre
This is a course that will allow you to work on your own family history, by yourself with the support of the tutor and other students. You will be guided to the best places to look for new records that will help you understand more about your ancestors’ lives – what they did, and where they were born, married and died.

5 sessions on Friday 5th, 12th, 19th May and 2nd, 9th June 2017, 1pm-3pm
