Friday 16th June 1-3pm at Cutteslowe Community Centre, Oxford
The Oxford Big Tea Party will bring together eighty elderly people affected by loneliness for a special Afternoon Tea. This event will provide them with much-needed company and entertainment, supported by students and volunteers.
Why hold the Oxford Big Tea Party?
We want to raise funds and awareness about the critical role of community transport – such as the Oxford City service delivered daily by Aspire – to help combat isolation and reduce loneliness of elderly people who deserve a life of dignity and independence.
Oxford’s elderly people are facing a loneliness crisis. 92% of Aspire’s Community Transport passengers live alone and 58% would not leave their homes each week without our service. But local, vital transport services are now under threat of closure, leaving elderly people vulnerable to isolation. So this event is a call to action, to encourage all of us to come together on an urgent issue affecting some of the most vulnerable in our community.
The event will also help to launch Team Oxford, a movement to get everyone creating a better city: one that’s happier, healthier, more connected and more empowered. A key driver for the event is to encourage and enable more volunteer drivers and befrienders, which aligns with Team Oxford’s ambition to make it easier for a wider range of people to make a difference for the city.
How you can help
We are asking you, as a business, club or association, to support our goal by sponsoring a table at the tea party for £500, or as an individual to sponsor a place for £50. As a sponsor we will also ask you if you would like to volunteer at the event.
Sponsorship opportunities & benefits
Sponsor a table: £500
Table sponsors will have their logo displayed at the event and on the Aspire website, with mentions on Aspire’s social media and in press releases. Table sponsors will also be publicly acknowledged by the event host and listed on a dedicated thank you flyer.
Sponsor a place: £50
Any individuals who sponsor a place will have their names listed on the Aspire website and on a dedicated thank you flyer to be placed on all tables.
How your sponsorship will change lives
All funds raised will be divided between Aspire and the Cutteslowe Community Association (CCA) and will be used by CCA to retain their lifeline bus service and by Aspire to reach more drivers and assistants and deliver subsidised training courses.
If you would like to sponsor a table/place, make a donation or volunteer, please contact Helen Mariner on email@example.com or call 01865 204450.
