Abingdon and Witney College are seeking volunteer placements for their Therapeutic Counselling Diploma students. Students are mature adult learners who will have completed three years part-time study before commencing their voluntary placement, including completion of the first year of the diploma. They are looking for part-time placements of about three hours per week to commence next summer. They will need to have 100 voluntary hours of face to face counselling to qualify.
The diploma is a nationally recognised qualification, accredited by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body. The theoretical modality is integrative humanistic, with a person-centred foundation. Students will have competence in handling a 50 minute counselling session. If your agency may be interested in using a volunteer student please email Halina Pytlasinska, course lecturer, on halina.pytlasinska@abingdon-witney.ac.uk or telephone 01235 216207. I am at my desk on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
