JOB VACANCY: OARC – Oxford Action Resource Centre Coordinator

Role summary: The Oxford Action Resource Centre (OARC) in the East Oxford Community Centre has the potential to be an amazing resource for groups working for social change in our community.

We have crowdfunded to create an exciting one day a week paid role for an OARC Coordinator to help rejuvenate, promote and maintain the space. The democratic model of OARC would remain, with users continuing to make the big decisions on how the space works. But the Coordinator would provide extra capacity to work with users to:

– Refresh, redecorate and reorganise the room to provide an accessible space for meetings, socials, fundraisers and workshops;
– Provide much needed free or cheap work space for radical organisations and groups;
– Introduce a borrowing system to allow groups access to the brilliant library of books and cooking and campaigning resources for free;
– Create a hub for activism in Oxford, promoting to space to new groups and linking up networks to collaborate and support each other.
