Role summary: An award-winning charity established in 1998, YoungDementia UK supports working-age people with dementia to live well. We provide face to face support services for the individual and their family in Oxfordshire, email and phone support to families beyond the county and we have recently established the Young Dementia Network to improve the lives of people affected by young onset dementia nationally.

Job description: YoungDementia UK support workers are special people. They provide individually tailored support sessions to people aged under 65 who are living with dementia. Helping them adapt to the challenges their condition brings, maintain their independence, experience new things and continue to take part in activities and interests they enjoy.
We are looking for people who are calm, flexible and reliable to join our team. People who can empathise with the difficulties a diagnosis at a younger age brings and who can have a positive impact in a person’s life. Support workers also host groups for people with young onset dementia with different social and creative activities.
Induction, on-going training and supervision are provided.
YoungDementia UK team work from home bases, utilising an cloud-based office and you will need broadband and a laptop/PC and be reasonably confident and competent with e-communication – support is provided.
Minimum 21 hours/week plus variable hours to be negotiated
