Can you help make a field fit for grazing horses again?
The 8 acre field by Oxford Rugby Club in North Hinksey is owned by a trust and used for grazing horses. The income is covenanted to 5 charities including Oxfam. It has become infested with ragwort which is poisonous to horses.
On Saturday January 13th, Oxford Conservation Volunteers will be coming armed with special forks and bags to clear the ragwort. They will meet shortly before 10 a.m. by the Oxford Rugby Club car park which is at the far end of North Hinksey Village beyond the Fishes Pub. They expect, with help, to complete the task by mid afternoon.
They would greatly value any volunteers who can join them. Bring boots, waterproofs, and lunch. Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided.
If you can help please let the chair of the trust know, Dr Chris Sugden on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07808297043.
