Healthy Abingdon event, working in partnership with the NHS, 14 December
The objective of Healthy Abingdon is to promote cooperation amongst all parties in Abingdon to find ways to improve health and wellbeing in the town.
Following the success of our first Healthy Abingdon event on working with local government, we are holding our second event on working with the NHS.
This will be on Thursday 14 December from 5 to 7 pm at the NE Abingdon Community Centre at Peachcroft. Join us after 4:30 pm for refreshments and networking. The centre is at the western edge of the Peachcroft shopping centre car park which is on Peachcroft Road, OX14 2QA.
The purpose of the meeting is for community groups and members of the public to talk directly to people from the NHS to discuss what we can do together and what help is available from the NHS to do this. We have taken your views from the last meeting and will spend more time in discussion rather than listening to presentations from the NHS.
The main feature of the meeting will be the table discussion session where the community and the NHS will discuss ideas. Different tables will focus on different topics depending on what of the community groups and members of the public feel are important. For example, some people may want to discuss dementia while others recreational activities.
You can find a detailed programme for the event on our web site http://www.healthyabingdon.org.uk where you will also find a report on our last event.
