Cheer for ARCh in the Starbucks Cheer for Good Campaign

Local charity Assisted Reading for Children (ARCh) rallies community members to support them in Starbucks Christmas campaign by cheering on social media

29th November 2017 – This Christmas, ARCh has been nominated to take part in Starbucks Cheer for Good charity campaign by customers and Starbucks partners (employees), meaning there’s an opportunity for the local charity group to be awarded up to £2,000. Launching 29 November, Starbucks will celebrate the work of 210 community charities around England, Scotland and Wales by donating £150,000 to local causes that sit at the heart of the communities important to its stores, and inviting friends and supporters to ‘cheer’ on social media.

Starbucks Cheer for Good is run in partnership with – the online platform that connects charities and local projects with helpful people, food surplus or financial donations.

ARCh is asking supporters and the local area to get behind them and ‘cheer’ for them on Twitter using the hashtag #CheerforGood and @Archoxfordshire from 29 November until midnight on 20th December 2017. The top 30 charities whose supporters cheer the loudest on social media will receive a top grant of £2,000, with all charities receiving a £500 grant for taking part.

ARCh Development Manager Jane Rendle said  “This is an ideal opportunity to cheer about the wonderful work our volunteers do, inspiring children across Oxfordshire to read. ARCh is in its 10th year of operation and we would like to celebrate this milestone by supporting a record number of children. To do this we need to recruit more volunteers so it is great that Starbucks and Neighbourly are helping spread the word via social media. We need all of Oxfordshire to help spread the word by cheering!”

Lend a cheer by supporting ARCh by cheering on Twitter using the hashtag #CheerforGood and @Archoxfordshire. You can also follow and share the dedicated charity Neighbourlypage
