Role summary: My Life My Choice (MLMC) is a multi-award winning self-advocacy charity run by and for people with learning disabilities, founded in 1998. The charity delivers a diverse range of innovative user led projects that enhances and empowers the lives of adults with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire.
MLMC is looking for a freelance Group Session Worker to run our monthly self-advocacy group in Henley.
Our groups provide a safe place for people to meet up and be part of their community, as well as learning valuable new skills. The Henley Group Session Worker will facilitate the monthly group meetings alongside a paid co-facilitator who has a learning disability. Together they will work with group members to support them to make new friends, to get advice, to speak up, to talk about their interests and to learn new skills.
The Henley group currently meets at the Christ Church United Reformed Church, 46 Reading Road, Henley-on-Thames, RG9 1AG. The group meetings usually take place on the third Monday of each month from 7pm – 9pm.
We need a self-starter who enjoys a challenge, can hit the ground running and is able to work with minimal supervision.
The successful applicant will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check.

Pay rate: £15/hour for 6 hours per month
