Muscular Dystrophy – Town & Gown race – volunteers wanted

Muscular Dystrophy on Sunday 13th May, the Oxford Town and Gown 10k, a closed road and scenic 10k run through the City Centre that finishes in the University Parks.

Each year we rely on our fantastic local volunteers to ensure the Oxford Town and Gown 10k takes place. Volunteers helping out on the day are not only vital to the success of the event, they also make a huge difference to the overall experience of our hundreds of runners. To this end, I was wondering whether you would consider promoting our volunteer opportunity on your radio show? It would be wonderful to be able to reach your listeners with the opportunity.

We are aiming to recruit around 80 volunteers to perform a variety of tasks during the day including:

·         Water station marshal

·         Baggage tent coordinator

·         Goody bag distributor

·         Information tent administrator

·         Registration tent administrator

·         Start and finish line marshals

·         Race marshals

All the money raised by the Oxford Town and Gown 10k will go towards our charity, Muscular Dystrophy UK. We fight muscle-wasting conditions, by finding treatments and cures and improving the lives of the 70,000 people in the UK affected. Our work depends on the support of people and organisations like yours. Last year we raised £172,000.
