Healthy Abingdon event, hearing from the voluntary sector in Abingdon, 26 April

The next Healthy Abingdon event is on Thursday 26 April at the North East Abingdon community Centre at Peachcroft. The meeting starts at 5 pm with registration, refreshments and networking from 4:30 pm.

This event is all about hearing what the community groups in Abingdon do to help with health and wellbeing in the town. There will be presentations from four groups reflecting different aspect on health and wellbeing. These are

• Archway Foundation on relieving the distress caused by loneliness. Including information on the new young people project.
• Abingdon Green Gym on keeping fit by doing countryside conservation work.
• Stonehill Community Gardens on bringing people closer to nature by sharing the joys of being outside and gardening together
• Hannah Gray of Dance to Health (Aesop) on getting fit and improve strength, balance and flexibility, making new friends and having fun

In addition, other groups are welcome to attend and bring their leaflets. They will be provided desk space to set up their stall and time is allocated for people to circulate and talk to the various groups.
