Community Advice Liaison Manager – Job Description

Working Hours 15 hours

Standard Work Pattern Monday (9-2), Wednesday (9-2) & Friday (11-4)

Salary £10.50 per hour

Reporting Line Joint Operations Managers

This role is funded initially for the period of 12 months.

The WIAC Operations team comprises this role and five other part-time employees. All team members work closely together so as to create a single, cohesive unit that underpins the three services provided, by the charity’s volunteers, to Vale of White Horse residents.

This is not an exhaustive list of tasks, but a guide to the expected duties and performance level of the role:

* To respect client privacy, maintain confidentiality, act in a non-judgemental manner and always act in the client’s best interest

* Provide advice and support to clients, their families and their support network

* Liaise with other professionals and third party agencies on an ongoing basis

* Manage and conduct client assessments in their principal residences

* Set strategies to deal with complex needs of clients with challenging behaviours and in demanding scenarios

* Consider new referrals for clients requesting or requiring assistance

* Administration and management of the Good Neighbour Scheme eg allocation listings

* Develop and enhance the existing Good Neighbour Scheme eg identify and implement joint working initiatives

* Supporting the Good Neighbour volunteer team

* Organise, attend and chair meetings, both external & internal and typically quarterly in nature

* Allocation of appropriate resources

* Introduce new clients to the matched volunteer

* Regularly review existing clients in an appropriate frequency cycle

* Document all contacts with clients and interested parties on the bespoke in-house software

* Recruit and interview prospective volunteers, undertaking all necessary formalities

* Keep up to date with local and national resources, including any and all relevant benefits

* Contribute to the production and presentation of the WIAC’s annual report

* Collate, interpret and action volunteer feedback

* Collate, interpret and provide statistics for on-reporting both to internal and external groups

* Identify training needs and areas for improvement within the service

* Take charge of the office and smooth running of the organisation in the event that Operations Management requires such assistance, representing the organisation as a whole. This includes regard for volunteer support, health and safety

* Undertake any duties as may be reasonably required from time to time by Operations Management
