Salary Range: £16,755 – £17,007 pro-rata, per annum (£8.68 – £8.82 per hour)
Work Location: The Oxfordshire Museum, Woodstock
Hours per week: Approx. 9 (Shifts vary per week, on average 4/5 hours per shift)
Contract type: Permanent

The Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock is looking for three part time Cafe Assistants to work as part of a team of paid staff and volunteers in its busy garden café. Duties will include taking orders, preparing a range of light refreshments in accordance with the Food Safety Management Policy and maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within the café. You will handle sales, operating a cash till and card machine, for which training will be given. With other members of the team, you will order stock as required and record café user information as requested.

You will need to be a practical, flexible, well-organised person who is able to maintain a high standard of personal presentation at all times. You must have a friendly, open and helpful manner, enjoy meeting people and be committed to providing excellent customer service. Experience of similar work is essential, as is recent experience of handling cash/sales and using a till, although training will be given.

Please note: Shift patterns are on a rolling 4 week rota and include some weekend working.

Job Purpose:

•To work as part of a team of paid staff and volunteers to promote public access to and enjoyment of the collections in the care of the Oxfordshire Museums Service and its partners
•To provide a friendly and efficient café service for all visitors to the Museum, in a safe environment as outlined in the Food Management Policy and as instructed by Visitor Services Supervisor
