As the name suggests, the winner of this competition gets the branding, logo and messages for their favourite good cause or charity painted all over an Oxford Bus Company bus, and this will then obviously be seen by residents and visitors as it travels the streets of Oxford everyday as part of our regular bus fleet. It’s a great way for a charity or other good cause to get their message out there (for free!).
To enter, participants need to submit a short video or PDF presentation showing why their charity or good cause deserves to ‘take over’ the bus. The entries will be displayed in an online gallery and the public will be encouraged to vote for their favourite. We would also like to showcase some of the entrants, interviewing them for PR in local papers about why this cause is important and why they want to win the competition. So even entrants that don’t win will receive lots of great publicity and can raise awareness of their good cause just by entering.
The 10 best entries as voted for by the public will then be shortlisted and our panel of judges will select an overall winner from those.
This competition is open to any UK residents over the age of 18. You don’t have to be officially associated with the charity or good cause you nominate (but must have their permission). It may be a local club, society, school, etc – we’re inclusive of all good causes. Younger members of society can contribute to the entries as part of group entries led by an adult (with the permission of their parent/guardian).
Full details of the competition are now live on the website here: https://www.oxfordbus.co.uk/competition
Entrants have until 30th November to submit their entries (Handy tip! – The sooner entries are in the gallery, the sooner the public can vote for them, so it’s worthwhile submitting asap).
