Oxford Lottery launch on 12/2/19

Oxford City Council is launching the Oxford Lottery We are inviting you to attend the ‘Good Causes’ launch for the Oxford Lottery on Tuesday 12 February, in the Long Room, Oxford Town Hall from 3-5pm. Refreshments will be provided.

Oxford Lottery players will be able to nominate their favourite local good causes as beneficiaries from the lottery, or to support a general fund. Voluntary and community groups will also be able to sign themselves up as potential beneficiaries of the general fund. Each local good cause supported by the Oxford Lottery will have their own page within the lottery website.

60p from every £1 ticket of the Oxford Lottery will go direct to charities, voluntary organisations and other good causes like you. Players of the lottery can win a £25,000 jackpot, plus smaller prizes.

Good causes, like yourself, will be able to have your own lottery page created, and 50p in every pound spent by players using your webpage will be retained by you.  A further 10p in every pound will go into a general Oxford Lottery good causes fund, with the remainder being put towards prizes, operating costs and VAT.

You will be able to hear from Councillor Christine Simm, Board Member for Supporting Local Communities at Oxford City Council, Ben Speare, Managing Director at Gatherwell – who are the external lottery managers for the Oxford Lottery- and Oxford City Council officers who will be able to tell you more about the new lottery, how it works and how your organisation can directly benefit from participating.
