Role summary: SeeSaw – Children and Families Practitioner
£31,381 fte.  Part time 30 hours

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new role supporting children, young people and families before and after the death of a parent or sibling. SeeSaw is a local well respected registered charity and won the national GSK / King’s Fund Impact Award 2016.

We are looking for candidates with experience of working with children and young people to join our small, committed and experienced team. You will have a special remit for supporting children and families before and after a bereavement. Our practitioners liaise with professionals from palliative care settings, schools, social care and children and young people’s mental health. You will work with other members of the team to provide group work and family activity days. You will also have a caseload of individual children and their families to support. You will be able to work collaboratively and on your own initiative, have a qualification in counselling, health care, psychological services, education or social work, knowledge of therapeutic interventions in grief work, and skills in communicating with and training professionals.
