Refugee Resource: “Volunteering induction pathways course for asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants”

The aim of this FREE 3 session course is to introduce the basic knowledge, skills and abilities required to work as a volunteer in a range of roles and settings locally. It will prepare and support participants to undertake suitable volunteer roles with a series of induction workshops run by careers advisers and volunteer specialists. This course will provide basic training on:
• Volunteering – roles, responsibilities and rights
• How to find out about and decide on what volunteering role is right for you
• Applying for a volunteer role and thinking about referees
• Performing at interview
• Communication skills and teamwork
• Getting the most out of my placement and next steps
