National Careers Service – support and advice on careers and skills development

The National Careers Service provides free, up to date, impartial information, advice and guidance on careers, skills and the local labour market.  Our professional advisers are located in venues in Abingdon, Didcot,  Banbury, Bicester, Oxford City Centre, Rose Hill, Cowley Road and Witney.

In addition, we are also able to attend the venues of any organisations who may wish to use our services to support their service users, clients and employees. We offer both face to face sessions and group workshops covering a wide variety of topics including:

  • Skills health check
  • CV writing
  • Mock interviews
  • Careers choices
  • Job searching
  • Apprenticeships
  • Training opportunities and funding
  • Overcoming barriers to progression
  • Industry specific workshops, eg construction, hospitality, customer service etc
  • Mid-life career reviews
  • Specific workshops for those who are 50+
  • Access to free online courses

Individuals wishing to book an appointment should contact the National Careers Helpline on 0800 100 900 (8am – 10pm, 7 days a week).
