Role summary: Home-Start Southern Oxfordshire is now part of an exciting new project, funded by Oxfordshire Community Foundation which aims to improve school readiness by supporting identified families in a southern Oxfordshire village, in the early years of their children’s lives. The families may have complex needs and be working with other agencies.
We need an experienced Family Support Worker to drive this project forward, managing his/her own caseload of families and providing one-to-one support in the home. The person appointed will also take responsibility for planning and running our well-established groups. These include one for first-time parents and their babies, and one for families who are ‘vulnerable’ or socially isolated and may be affected by postnatal illness or other mental health conditions.
Job location (usual place of work): Didcot – Applicants must have use of their own car, for which expenses will be paid.
Pay rate: Salary: £21,589 per annum, pro rata (£11.19 per hour) 30 hours per week. This is a one-year post, with possible extension, dependent on funding
