Role summary: Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)
Reducing the Risk of Domestic Abuse provides specialist independent domestic violence services in Oxfordshire. This includes providing a package of support covering crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning and implementation.
Successful applicants will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on victims and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of domestic abuse and strong casework management skills. A key aspect of the role will be to advocate on behalf of service users pursuing remedies through the criminal and civil justice systems.
The IDVA will work specifically with high risk clients, whose cases are referred to the Cherwell and West Multi Agency Risk assessment Conference (MARAC).
Applicants are required to have SafeLives IDVA qualification, or be willing to go on the training to acquire it. This post also requires the applicant to have a full driving license and an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate.

Pay rate: £25,000 – £27,000pa depending on experience
