Role summary: To build on our successful programme of Enter & View activity, and to recruit and train and support volunteers and lay people.
Enter and View is a visit to a health or social care setting that lasts approximately three to four hours which allows us to make observations of the environment and staff / patient interactions as well as talk with service users, staff and relatives.
Under the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007, providers of health and care services have a duty to allow access to Healthwatch Authorised Representatives to carry out Enter and View activities.
This duty applies to services receiving public funds, such as hospitals, GP Surgeries and care homes. It is an opportunity for us to highlight areas of good practice and make recommendations for improvements based on the feedback of people who use and work in these services. Enter and View visits are not inspections, however, we do write reports following our visits and give the provider an opportunity to contribute to these reports. Completed reports are published on our website and shared with the Care Quality Commission
