Online workshops for community organisations and Mutual Aid Groups.

(All sessions will be held online using Zoom)

Tuesday 02/06/2020         1.00pm – 2.00pm

This session will focus on helping groups to find out how OCVA can support you to recruit volunteers. It will cover:

  • How to develop attractive and engaging volunteer adverts and role descriptions
  • How to use oxonvolunteers.org more effectively to recruit volunteers
  • Highlight Policies and procedures that organisations may need to manage and support volunteers

To take part in this session please register by emailing admin@ocva.org.uk ( use ‘2nd June Volunteering Group’ as the subject heading) and provide your email address, name of your organisation or group and a contact telephone number (in case there are any issues with the online services).

Please register by Fri 29/05/2020.

Followed by:

2.30 pm – 3.30 pm

1-1 support sessions for organisations and mutual aid groups (in pre-booked 15 minute slots) to address any issues identified in the previous group session and provide any additional support you may require.

To take part in any of this session please register by emailing admin@ocva.org.uk ( use subject heading 1:1 session) and provide your email address, name of your organisation or group and a contact telephone number (in case there are any issues with the online services).

Please register by Fri 29/05/2020.

Thursday 04/06/2020   2.00 pm – 3.00 pm.

This session will provide an introduction to Oxonvolunteers’ new COVID-19 app and help you to recruit volunteers and assign them to specific tasks.

Further information:

The new Oxonvolunteers’ COVID-19 app can be used without downloading and can help you recruit volunteers for specific tasks rather than for more general volunteering roles whilst at the same time maintaining confidentiality and monitoring progress. For example, you can recruit a volunteer to ‘pick up groceries from Waitrose Botley Road and drop off to an address near Speedwell Street’ (access to full details will be provided when you assign a pre-approved volunteer).

This means that you don’t have to develop and advertise for more formal, generic, roles such as ‘Volunteer Driver’ and that the app can help you to recruit volunteers, going forward, that may have less time to make commitments to more open ended volunteering roles.

To take part in any of this session please register by emailing admin@ocva.org.uk  (use 4th June Group as subject heading) and provide your email address, name of your organisation or group and a contact telephone number (in case there are any issues with the online services).

Please register by Fri 29/05/2020.
