Oxfordshire Community Foundation – Webinar: Closing the attainment gap: the importance of reading

November 4, 2020

With Oxfordshire already facing a larger attainment gap at age 16 than the rest of England, what will the impact of COVID-19 be? Please join us at our webinar next Wednesday 11th November at 2pm.

Following the return to school in September, this webinar will focus on how reading has the potential to close the attainment gap. How is the local charitable sector complementing the work of schools, and how can we prevent children from the most disadvantaged families from becoming a lost generation?

Programme includes:

Spotlight on: Helen Hastle, Regional Director at The Dollywood Foundation UK

Making a difference: Jane Rendle, Development Manager at ARCH (Assisted Reading for Children in Oxfordshire)

Supporting the change: Bob Evans, fundholder, The Maggie Evans Fund
