Job description: This is a rewarding opportunity to run a sociable and friendly youth group for a small group of awesome 11 – 16 year olds (Secondary school age) with Asperger’s Syndrome/High Functioning Autism. You will organise and run activities; line manage a Youth Support Worker and volunteers; and liaise with parent/carers as needed. Sessions are supported by a Youth Support Worker and volunteers. Management support and regular supervision are provided by our Activity Coordinator.

Weekly working hours are Thursdays 5:30pm – 8:30pm, term-time only (39 weeks per year) plus additional time for planning, or attending periodic staff meetings or training.

Professional experience of working with young people on the autism spectrum in a group setting is essential. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with young people with autism as well as parents and professionals; be organised and reliable with a sense of fun, and be able to manage a small team.
