OCVA: Volunteering during lockdown – latest information

January 12, 2021

Lockdown 3.0 is in full swing and we know the volunteering world want to know more about the new guidelines from the government. We have found some useful information in regards to volunteering during this lockdown.

As this is a fast changing situation, please make sure you are checking for latest guidance from  national government and OCVA.

Under the latest guidelines you can leave your home for reasonable reasons. This includes leaving your home for some volunteering roles – you can also leave home to provide voluntary or charitable services, where it cannot be done from home.

For further guidance, see below:

If you want to volunteer during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, you can do this:

  • from home, for example by working on a telephone support helpline
  • outside your home, for example by delivering food and medicine
  • in a workplace, for example an office

If you run an organisation or group, or manage volunteers, find out how to involve volunteers safely and effectively.
