Unemployment claimant count data has been released today. This shows a small monthly increase for Oxfordshire, up from 16,345 claimants in November 2020 to 16,640 in December 2020 (+0.5%), see article on Oxfordshire Insight.
Note that the unemployment claimant total does not include people on the Coronavirus Job Retention scheme, which is due to finish at the end of March 2021 (with a review this month, in January 2021). As of 31 October 2020, there were 21,400 furloughed employments in Oxfordshire, a take-up of 6% compared with 7% take-up across England.
