Job location (usual place of work): In primary schools across Oxfordshire.

Pay rate: £20/hour

Job title: Part-time Literacy and Numeracy tutors

Hours are: Part time

Contract is: Fixed term

Job description: Literacy Tutors will work during school hours with pupils identified by partner schools, in groups of two or three, delivering our tried and tested literacy programmes: ReadingQuest and BookQuest.

The role of the Literacy Tutor is to increase individual children’s strategies, confidence, knowledge and skills in reading, writing, spelling and comprehension to enable them to be successful, independent learners. Literacy Tutors will also encourage and support parents and carers to help pupils with literacy learning at home.
Numeracy Tutors will work during school hours with pupils identified by partner schools, in groups of four using our NumSkills resources. The role of the Numeracy Tutor is to increase individual children’s strategies, confidence, knowledge and skills in mental maths to enable them to be successful, independent learners. Numeracy Tutors will also encourage and support parents and carers to help pupils with numeracy learning at home.
