Role summary: Footcare Assistants offer a basic toenail cutting service to people aged 50 and over. We offer this service at dedicated venue settings or within peoples own homes.
This is a vital role to support people in maintaining their independence at home. Having neat nails supports mobility and helps prevent trips and falls.

Job description: Main duties :
To provide regular visits, approximately every 8 weeks, to clients in their own homes or in specified venues.
To cut toenails and give a gentle foot rub to people over the age of 50 – in a caring and efficient way (Training will be given).
Receive referrals, organise and carry out toenail cutting sessions and home visits.
Collect and handle cash in accordance with cash handling guidelines and policy, keep clear records in line with data protection.
In venue settings, where applicable, use contactless, cashless transactions.
Complete timesheets and expense forms and return these electronically, monthly.
Be responsible for planning and arranging home visits, receiving payments for toenail cutting sessions and returning monthly payment returns ensuring the necessary fee is collected, recorded and banked weekly.
To ensure that clients are treated with sensitivity, respect and dignity.
Support the Coordinator with the promotion of the toenail cutting service.
To liaise closely with the Service Admin for equipment stock orders.
We are looking for someone with flexibility, sensitivity and who understands the needs of older people and their carers. You will be cutting toenails so it is important that you can communicate and engage with people in a positive way.
Whilst training will be provided, experience of cutting other people’s nails is preferred.
You must have use of a car to travel between clients.
