Do you want to make a difference and help enhance multi-agency response to domestic abuse within ethnic minority groups and communities in Oxfordshire?
We are looking for someone to help us develop stronger liaison with minority communities in Oxfordshire so as to:
– work together to build more effective pathways to support for vulnerable adults and children who are at risk through abuse
– train and support Domestic Abuse Champions from a diverse range of communities to join our Network of committed volunteers and professionals working together to safeguard vulnerable people at risk
– promote the value of the lived experience of survivors from Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority communities and groups
– draw on the knowledge of people from different communities to contribute to our training and build wider understanding including awareness of barriers to help and support.
Reducing the Risk is a small vibrant local charity which both provides one to one support for victims of abuse at high risk and acts as a training and resource hub for the practitioners and volunteers who support them. We are currently looking for someone to work with our training team to extend and strengthen our links with a wide range of minority communities. The post holder will build on the current Thames Valley BAMER report to engage with minority communities in Oxfordshire so as to enhance our understanding of current needs and issues associated with domestic abuse and help us respond through our training and direct services.
