Oxfordshire Strategic Intelligence Assessment 2021 – Information on Crime and Community Safety in Oxfordshire

July 1, 2021

We are pleased to let you know that the 2021 update of the Oxfordshire Strategic Intelligence Assessment (SIA) is now available on Oxfordshire Insight, with thanks to the Safer Oxfordshire Partnership for their guidance and to the analysts and service experts who worked with us and provided advice and data extracts.

You can download the full report or a summary version of the SIA and this year we have published a new interactive dashboard for exploring crime trends and hotspots in Oxfordshire.

The Strategic Intelligence Assessment provides information about crime and community safety in Oxfordshire, and is part of the evidence base which supports community safety partners to plan and target their work.  This 2021 SIA update is based on:

  • Crime data published by the Office for National Statistics (for the period Jan-Dec 2020) which allows for comparisons with national averages and similar areas;
  • Locally sourced crime statistics from Thames Valley Police (for the period Jan-Dec 2020);
  • Other local and national datasets, as referenced throughout the report.

A key theme in this year’s report was the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 on police recorded crime.

*** For an overview of the key findings from the 2021 SIA and help finding data resources, please join our webinar on Thursday 22nd July from 10am to 11am. Register via Eventbrite to book your place ***
