OCVA – Including Everyone – free lunchtime bite sized learning: addressing the challenge of accessing services and volunteering opportunities for asylum seekers and refugees

July 7, 2021

Including Everyone – the challenge of accessing services and volunteering opportunities for asylum seekers and refugees

As part of our ongoing commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion across the voluntary and community sector we’re excited to announce the next in our series of monthly Including Everyone events. These bite sized sessions take a practical approach to protected characteristics as we seek to make Oxfordshire the best place for everyone to work, volunteer or access services.

In our second session we will meet Mark Goldring, CEO of Asylum Welcome, to discuss the challenge of accessing services and volunteering opportunities for asylum seekers and refugees and how we as groups and organisations can make impactful adjustments. We will then hear from an Oxfordshire resident with lived experience of coming to the UK as an asylum seeker, to discuss the barriers they encountered in engaging with organisations.

Join us on Wednesday 21st July  from  1- 2 pm

Register here and we will then send you the link to join the online session: Lunch and Learn July 2021

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is a journey of continued learning and we look forward to sharing it with you.
