As we come out of lockdown and face-to-face activities restart it can be difficult to know what can and can’t happen in our communities, or what is going to make it so people feel safe to participate. Even as, on July 19th, all restrictions are lifted in the UK, covid-19 is still present in our communities, as are anxieties around it which have been present now for over a year. Barriers to participate in activities are not going to be the same for everyone.
We want to hear from you about what concerns you have and how you are preparing to run your events. We will also give some advice on how to prepare with confidence.
This session is for:
- People who are active in community groups especially volunteer-run
- People who help to run events and activities in their groups
- People who are concerned about making sure others feel able to participate
This session is run by CAG Oxfordshire and OCVA and is free to attend.
It will start with a go-round to hear some concerns and experiences from the attendees, followed by a short introduction to some common concerns about running events, tips and resources to help you feel more prepared, and issues around inclusivity. There will then be a chance to bring your own experience into the discussion and offer peer support. We look forward to seeing you there!
