Targeted Community Testing
On behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care and working with community organisations across Oxfordshire, the County Council is delivering a targeted community testing programme – initially through to the end of September. This aims to make home testing kits readily available to those individuals disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 and to those individuals who may be less likely to access regular testing by other means and is especially important during the transition period outside of widespread restrictions.
The objectives of this programme are to help:
- Identify asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 to break chains of transmission
- Improve access to testing for disproportionately impacted and under-represented groups, helping to reduce health inequalities.
- Protect vulnerable individuals.
