Role Summary: A leadership role with exciting potential to establish our charity base. We work in partnership with farms and other rural locations to run a day service which provides opportunities for people with learning disabilities (our “co-farmers”) to recognize their own abilities, develop their skills and give life more purpose.
We have established partnerships with a number of different rural enterprises and locations where our co-farmers engage in all sorts of different activities including gardening, animal husbandry and woodwork. We are looking to establish a base at one of these locations. An early objective of your role would be to help us to do this. To work closely with our team and develop a partnership with our hosts that would be of mutual benefit.
As Chief Executive you would be responsible for all operational aspects of our organisation with overall responsibility for the management of the programme; our staff (currently 5) and volunteers; helping us to fund and create innovative programmes to enable our co-farmers to progress; and working with the trustees on strategic direction and development whilst preserving our ethos and focus on the individual.
Job location (usual place of work): Our office is currently based in Eynsham with outreach locations within approx. 10 mile radius of Oxford. There will also be opportunities to work from home on occasion.
Pay rate: £35-40,000 FTE dependent on experience.

Successful applicants would be invited to visit us for a couple of hours in the morning or afternoon, week beginning 8 November. These visits would be followed by a second, in person, interview at our offices in Eynsham (tbc) on 19 November.
Hours are: 4 to 5 days a week (TBA)
Contract is: Permanent with 3 months’ probation
Job description: The Chief Executive is responsible for ensuring the success, sustainability and growth of FarmAbility for the benefit of co-farmers through implementing an effective programme and fundraising strategy, and engaging staff and volunteers in working well towards programme outcomes. We are looking for someone with leadership and management experience, a good strategic thinker with fundraising success who can ensure our programme achieves strong outcomes for co-farmers’ well-being and skills’ development. We are looking for someone with the confidence and enthusiasm to develop the programme and establish a base at one of our outreach locations.
