JOB VACANCY: Vale Community Impact – Fundraising, Marketing and Publicity Person (p/t)

November 11, 2021

Job Title:                              Fundraising, Marketing and Publicity                              Person

Salary:                                  £12.50 per hour

Hours of Work:                   10 – 15 hours per week. Part time with flexible working.    Home and office based.

Responsible for:                  Fundraising (general and grants), marketing and publicity

Reporting to:                       Operations Managers

About us:

We are an independent charity serving the Vale of White Horse area. The centre was founded in 1971, with a small group of volunteers providing information services and advice from a small office in Wantage Market Square.  We remain in the same offices today and now, we not only cover advice, but we run a community transport scheme and a befriending service.

We currently have around 120 volunteers across the three services.  We also have 13 volunteer trustees who form the Management Committee, four of who, are nominated representatives from various councils.

About the role:

As the majority of our income is from grants and fundraising, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated fundraiser with great people skills to action our grant requests and be instrumental in future fundraising activities.  This role will require accuracy especially with grant applications, creativity, flexibility and the ability to develop high quality communications, including materials and messages for all fundraising activities, in order to increase support for us.

The second part of the role will be to manage our publicity and marketing across a range of platforms, including the internet and social media.  This has primarily been managed by volunteers previously but with our recent name change we are looking to make this a formal role and therefore of a professional standard.

The successful applicant will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to work well on their own as well as part of the team.

This is a new position for VCI so it is difficult to give an exact description of the role as we feel it will develop once the successful applicant starts.
