PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To work as part of a team to provide support for service users experiencing mental health crisis, including monitoring of group activities and conducting 1:1 sessions with service users face to face, on the phone and via online platforms.
Safe Haven offers same-day support for those who struggle with their mental health and are experiencing particular distress. People can self-refer or be referred by a professional to get an appointment for one-to-one support face to face or on the phone, or access ‘grounding’ or ‘refocusing’ activities in a calming and supportive environment. The goal is to support people in creating and following safety plans, developing new coping strategies and encouraging them to use the support available to them.
HOURS: 28-35 hours per week
SALARY: NJC salary scale point 11-18 (£22,129– £25,419) plus unsocial pay for weekends and evenings worked.
NUMBER OF POSTS: 4
HOLIDAYS: 28 days plus bank holidays per annum pro rata
PENSION: Auto-enrolment scheme in place
PROBATIONARY PERIOD: 6 Months
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Oxford Safe Haven Manager or Deputy
BASE: Oxford or Banbury with travel across Oxfordshire depending on the service need.

Staff will be working shift patterns (AM: 11am-6.30pm; PM: 4pm-11.30pm) including weekends and bank holidays.
Currently Safe Haven operates from Oxford and Banbury with plans to expand to the south of the county. The postholder will have a main base but will be flexible to travel to other locations. Travel costs to locations other than worker’s base will be paid.
