The deadline for round two of the 2021/22 Councillor Community Grant scheme has now been extended to noon on Friday 18 February.
Grants from £250 up to a maximum of £5,000 per councillor (budget permitting) are available to town and parish councils and ‘not for profit’ groups who are benefiting local residents.
We are particularly keen to fund projects of greatest impact for residents, such as activities that protect and restore our natural world, promote action on the climate emergency and improve economic and community wellbeing. Appropriate projects could include, but are not limited to, the replacement of equipment or improvements to community centres/halls, community festivals and event costs, volunteer training costs, sustainability projects, improvements to sports facilities and energy audits.
Please note that a number of wards have committed some or all of their grant budget in the first round. It is important to check available funds in your ward area as detailed in the application form (section 3). However, please also contact your local councillor to check they haven’t now been awarded or committed to another organisation, before completing your application. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact the team on the email above.
