Building Oxfordshire’s Freshwater Network – get involved by growing some native wetland plants at home

March 2, 2022

This is an exciting opportunity for locals to help stop the decline of rare, native wetland plants by growing some at home. We will deliver a pack of seedlings, adult plants or seeds to homes, schools or community centres, plus all the necessary equipment for volunteers to grow their plants in a location convenient to them (preferably some garden space outside, or somewhere it will get some sunlight e.g., a windowsill) over the summer of 2022. When the plants have grown, we’ll collect them from our volunteers to plant out at one of our designated, high-quality wetland habitats.

The plants will be numbered, and GroWet volunteers will have the opportunity to follow their plants journey back to the wild through interactive mapping, social media and videos.

You can find more information about the project and GroWet on our website: https://freshwaterhabitats.org.uk/projects/oxfordshires-freshwater-network/
