Since our last update, we’ve had some great sessions with our Communities of Practice in Oxford, Abingdon and Banbury. (If you haven’t seen our previous news stories about these, you can read more background information here about the CoPs and how they fit with the vision of the Oxfordshire Way.)
As well as sharing information and making new contacts and linkages across organisations and initiatives, a key aim is for participants to benefit from training as part of the sessions too. We’ve been fortunate to have contributions from Active Oxfordshire and Shaping our Lives at some of our recent meetings, and we’ve also had an in-depth look at key issues, led by members of the group themselves.
We’ve already covered a wide range of topics in the different groups, including:
- Live Well Oxfordshire
- lived experience
- user involvement
- movement
- cost of living.
We will revisit some of these, and we’re looking forward to sessions by Community First on Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) at the next round of meetings. We are planning to focus on dementia at future sessions too, as well as other topics requested by the different groups.
