The exercise will be centred around a crowded places incident initially, such as an explosion on a bus in the city centre although this will only be a scenario. This exercise will allow local authorities an opportunity to train key skills required to operate an reception centre and the response to a significant incident in the city centre. Role players will be asked to play people who were in the bus, general public around the incident and evacuees from within the cordon.
It will be on the 30th of June at the Oxford Baptist Church in Bonn Square in Oxford City.
30 volunteers are needed to play as evacuees/role players on the day between 09:15 and 16:00, if possible. A briefing will be provided on the day at 09:30 as well as lunch, teas and coffees.
There isn’t designated parking for this training day so volunteers will need to use public transport or car parks in the city to come on the day. There is no age restriction to be a role player, there will be plenty of chairs, free tea, coffee and some lunch.
