Local, independent charity Age UK Oxfordshire has been named by The National Centre for Diversity as one of the most inclusive employers in the country in their Top 100 Most Inclusive Workplaces Index 2022.
With over 160 employees and 300 volunteers supporting older people across the county, Age UK Oxfordshire is committed to providing an inclusive workplace that is welcoming to everyone. The charity has carried out significant investment in equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) development and commissioned an external audit to help ensure focus in the right areas.
The charity has two working groups committed to moving the organisation in the right direction: one group working at an organisational, strategic level, and the other group focussing on the daily operations of the charity.
Siraz Natha, National Centre for Diversity Adviser who completed the charity’s recent audit said: “The Diversity Cultural Audit has shown that staff within Age UK Oxfordshire have a high regard for the inclusive culture that Age UK Oxfordshire has established.”
Sarah Jackson, HR Manager at the charity said: “We are very proud to have been listed in the ‘Top 100’. As an organisation we are fully committed to diversity and inclusion and while we are clearly doing well at present, we know that EDI is an ongoing commitment and we will constantly strive to be better.”
