Role summary: Refugee Resource are looking for a Marketing & Fundraising Co-ordinator to support efforts to ensure the future sustainability and relevance of Refugee Resource through fundraising, communications and administrative duties. The post-holder will work with the Partnership Development Manager (PDM), along with other staff, to undertake marketing and fundraising activities for the organisation: lead on individual and community fundraising; support with Trust and Foundation fundraising; keep accurate fundraising and partner records, and ensure all communications are on brand and in line with Refugee Resource’s vision and ethos.

The role is 28 hours per week £24k pa (£19,200 pro rata).

Job description:

1. Fundraising

• Perform set fundraising tasks – e.g. researching new opportunities, collating information for reports/applications, writing applications for small Trust and Foundation grants, reporting to funders etc.
• Develop community fundraising opportunities – for example, attending local events and hosting talks, organising activities (e.g. for Refugee Week) to raise awareness and generate funds, and inspiring others to fundraise for Refugee Resource, either independently or as part of a team effort, e.g. for the Oxford Half Marathon.
• Coordinate public events organised by Refugee Resource e.g. for Refugee Week.
• Consider ways to increase numbers and engagement of individual supporters.
• Coordinate fundraising and marketing volunteers, who are assisting with community fundraising, events, social media etc.

2. Marketing and communications

• Advocacy is a strategic priority and is to be a key part of the role, which requires maintaining a working knowledge and understanding of issues affecting refugees and asylum-seekers, as well as mental health issues, and keeping abreast of developments in this area (e.g. policy, campaigns, new stories etc).
• Support PDM across all communications channels including the website and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), ensuring that content is current, relevant, on brand and audience appropriate.
• Produce quarterly newsletter for supporters.
• Support with the production of marketing materials and client literature such as leaflets, annual reviews, etc., as necessary.
• Work with PDM to oversee the collection of high-quality content to improve the impact of communications and fundraising materials, e.g. case studies, quotes, photos, videos.
• Proactively look for opportunities to promote our work and activities through social media and liaison with the media and produce press releases as appropriate.
• Attend external events to give talks, run stalls, contribute to/ lead on Refugee Week activities etc.

3. Administrative support

• Lead on managing the organisation’s CRM system (Donorfy), including updating records, assigning tasks, trialling new features to improve efficiency and developing effective processes as required.
• Ensure all supporter records are managed in line with data protection legislation and produce timely and appropriate communications (includes ensuring that all donors are thanked within one week of making a gift).
• Record fundraising and other activities for multiple members of the team, e.g. amounts raised, grant applications, events/meetings attended, etc.
• Gather data as needed to support with administrative processes, e.g. Gift Aid declarations and processing, donor/partner information, etc.

4. Miscellaneous

• Accept personal responsibility for own learning and professional development.
• To undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time, which are commensurate with the nature of the post.

This job description represents an outline of responsibilities of the post and may be amended following consultation with the post-holder. Please note that this role may require some evening and weekend working.
